We express our full and unwavering solidarity with our comrade Ghassan Henchiri, who was arrested by the Tunisian authorities on the evening of March 7 together with five other activists from the Sumud Maghreb Flotilla.

Ghassan Henchiri, a member of PPDS Tunisia and an organizer of the Global Sumud Flotilla, has for many years been a dedicated and courageous fighter for the freedom of the Palestinian people. Through his deep commitment to oppressed peoples, he has become an important comrade within the anti-imperialist movement.

We categorically reject the charges brought against him—including terrorism, money laundering, and the illegal collection of donations. These accusations are clearly intended to criminalize political and humanitarian solidarity.

Ghassan’s work has consistently been dedicated to supporting the people of Gaza and to breaking the blockade. Shortly before the departure of the solidarity flotilla in September 2025, he declared:

“Our determination comes from the determination of the peoples, and the will of the peoples is unbreakable. We will take this flotilla to Gaza.”

The struggle for the freedom of oppressed peoples is legitimate. We stand with our comrade Ghassan Henchiri and demand his immediate and unconditional release.

Our commitment is to the freedom of the Palestinian people, the freedom of the Kurdish people, and the freedom of all other oppressed peoples around the world.

As Che Guevara said, “Solidarity is the tenderness of the peoples.” We will not allow that tenderness to be outlawed.
