Today, the Global Sumud Flotilla has called for an action day against US imperialism, which will be observed jointly by the people on the boats and the solidarity movement in Europe.
US imperialism has been waging regional wars in the Middle East for decades, in which millions of people have fallen victim. Even if it comes up with a new excuse for every war, the same goals stand behind all these wars: dominance in the region, control over natural resources, and gaining an advantage over imperialist competitors. In doing so, it continues to combat all democratic or even revolutionary forces to this day that give a voice to the peoples of the Middle East and stand up for their demands and rights, while supporting a variety of reactionary rulers, such as Turkey or Saudi Arabia.
The Israeli state, which would never have established itself without US support, serves it in this regard as a counterrevolutionary base in the region. Anyone who wants to break US power over the Middle East, anyone who wants to establish truly democratic projects in the region in the long term, must sooner or later also confront the Israeli state. For revolutionary forces active in the Middle East, support for the liberation struggle of the Palestinian people is therefore not only a question of humanity and morality but also a very concrete question of survival.
For as long as Israel continues to be used as an outpost of US imperialism, it is only a matter of time before it attempts to liquidate every revolutionary movement and every progressive project.
The military cooperation between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the US Army is no exception to the rule.
First of all, it is important to clarify that the cooperation between the USA and the self-administration has a military character, and that no American representatives have ever had significant influence on political decisions in the revolutionary areas. Anyone familiar with the nature of the USA should see that achievements such as a council system, a women’s army, and the partial socialization of important economic sectors would never have been implemented if the USA had had significant political influence. Since the USA could not shape the self-administration according to its political demands, it immediately demanded the complete liquidation of the revolution as soon as it became clear that a man like Ahmed al-Sharaa had come to power in Syria, whom the USA could actually control politically.
The allies of the oppressed peoples are never the imperialist powers, but always the oppressed peoples themselves.
The united struggle of the peoples against imperialism is the only way to defeat it, and it must be defeated—otherwise the Middle East will never escape the cycle of violence and massacres.
Long live the unity and resistance of the peoples!
Long live the liberation struggle in Kurdistan!
Long live the liberation struggle in Palestine!
