“Rojava Panel” in Paris with the participation of Arif Çelebi, organized by People’s Bridge

Following the demonstration held in Paris calling for truth and justice for Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan, Leyla Şaylemez, as well as Mîr Perwer, Abdurahmann Kızıl, and Evin Goyi, People’s Bridge organized a panel titled “Perspectives of Rojava.” This event marked People’s Bridge’s first conference in France addressing the situation in Syria.

Many people attended the panel to listen to the presentation by Arif Çelebi, a writer for the journal Marxist Theory, who analyzed developments since the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime and the current resistance in the neighborhoods of Aleppo, and to engage in discussion through questions.

Çelebi examined the role of foreign powers in the region and the war being waged for control over trade routes and energy resources. Numerous questions led to in-depth discussions on the support provided by the United States, the European Union, Turkey, and Israel to the new jihadist government in Damascus.

At the conclusion of the conference, Arif Çelebi highlighted the situation in Rojava and discussed how the revolution can be supported, emphasizing the importance of mobilization in this regard. He recalled the popular mobilization during the Battle of Kobanê and the pressure exerted on governments at the time, which led to the formation of the international coalition against ISIS and contributed significantly to the victory.

Many organizations participated in the panel and expressed their support for the revolution in Rojava. Among them were Jeunesse Internationaliste, Serhildan, Jeunesse Communiste, Contre Offensive, OCML VP, Reconstruction Communiste, l’Offensive, ZORA, and Young Struggle.
