MLKP Kurdistan call for Newroz: “Long Live Newroz, Long Live Socialism!”

ETHA, Wednesday, March 19, 2025

On Newroz 2025, MLKP Kurdistan has called on all the peoples of the Middle East—from Palestine to Kurdistan—to amplify revolutionary resistance and join a united struggle to secure the freedom of millions of oppressed people.

Greetings to those who resist, fight, and refuse to submit to capitalism, colonialism, occupation, and male domination. Long live Newroz, long live socialism! For a just, honorable, and democratic peace. Long live the equal, free, and voluntary unity of peoples,” they declared.

The Marxist-Leninist Communist Party/Kurdistan (MLKP Kurdistan) emphasized their commitment to defending all the gains of the Rojava revolution, fighting for a democratic Syria, pursuing a just, honorable, and democratic peace in Bakurê Kurdistan[1] through a united revolution, and standing in solidarity with the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” uprising that has spread from Rojhilat[2] to the world.

MAY OUR NEWROZ FESTIVAL BE BLESSED

In their statement titled “Long live Newroz, Long live a free Kurdistan,” MLKP Kurdistan expressed the following: “To our Kurdish people; to the peoples of the Middle East who resist oppression, tyranny, fascism, and all forms of denial and destruction—may our Newroz festival be blessed. To the Armenian, Assyrian, Syriac, Chaldean, Turkmen, Circassian, Druze, Alevi, and Christian workers, laborers, and oppressed of Kurdistan and the Middle East who resist massacres, tyranny, slaughter, exploitation, and oppression—may our Newroz festival be blessed.

To the Kurdish women of Rojava, who have combined the freedom torch of the blacksmith Kawa with the women’s revolution; to women of every nation and faith who resist, fight, and carry the fire of freedom from country to country against reactionary, fascist, despotic, jihadist, and misogynistic states and their policies—may our Newroz be blessed. To the tireless bearers of the freedom flame—the youth of the mountains, on plain land, squares, factories, campuses, suburbs, barricades, and trenches; the youth of Kurdistan, Turkey, Syria, and the Middle East—may our Newroz be blessed.

THE FASCIST TURKISH STATE SEEKS TO LIQUIDATE THE ESSENCE OF OUR STRUGGLE

Our homeland, Kurdistan, and all the lands of the Middle East have been under attack by colonialists and occupiers, burned and destroyed for decades. Our people have been subjected to genocide through massacres and slaughter. The colonialist, occupying, genocidal, and fascist Turkish state, alongside imperialists, seeks to annihilate our people’s desire for freedom and their gains wherever Kurds live, in every part of Kurdistan. The colonialist, fascist Turkish state refuses to meet our people’s demands for national freedom and status. It aims to liquidate the essence of our struggle. Yet it has failed. While it sought to crush us, it has itself neared collapse. Facing our persistent, determined, and sacrificial resistance, the fascist regime was forced to meet with Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan in Imrali Prison.

WE CALL FOR HEIGHTENING UNITED STRUGGLE

Our party, MLKP, has declared that we ‘maintain our unwavering position that the Kurdish people’s right to national freedom, equality, and national unity is indispensable, and we declare our support for the national democratic demands raised by the “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society.”’ As MLKP Kurdistan, we affirm that we will build this perspective within our socialist patriotic line. We call on the millions of oppressed people of all nations and faiths in our region to escalate united resistance against the fascist colonial regime. While imperialists and the colonialist fascist states in our region—chiefly Turkey and Israel—arm themselves to the teeth, they seek to bury the armed struggle of oppressed peoples in history. Yet organized, armed, and resisting peoples have always been the biggest fear of capitalist imperialist states—and they will continue to be.

OUR PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEY WANT

Capitalist imperialism is moving toward resolving its structural crisis through a world war. In the first world war of the 20th century, the Kurds’ level of organization and national consciousness was insufficient to establish Kurdistan. Today, as contradictions and conflicts between imperialists intensify and the Middle East map is redrawn, Kurds enter this era with a new consciousness, organization, and experience of struggle. In the current conditions of the world and the Middle East, they possess all the means to transform their national and democratic collective rights into a recognized status. This level, achieved through great struggles and sacrifices, holds historic significance. Our people across the four parts of Kurdistan have secured democratic national rights in different forms and degrees. These gains lay the foundation for an independent, united, and free Kurdistan. Our people are organized, conscious, and know what they want.

BEHIND ABDI IS THE WILL OF OPPRESSED AND DENIED PEOPLES

Our people have achieved a certain level in Rojava[3], realizing the women’s revolution. In Başûr[4] and Rojhilat, they have gained unprecedented national consciousness and organization. In Bakûr, a tooth-and-nail struggle continues. Our people are crowning the torch of resistance, inherited from Demirci Kawa, with freedom. Behind Mazlum Abdi, the SDF General Commander who sat at the same table as Ahmet El Shara, stands the will of oppressed and denied peoples. Behind El Shara stand those who massacred Yazidis, Kurds, and Alawis. There lies the responsibility for the slaughter of thousands of Alawis in Latakia, Tartus, Hama, and Homs—a responsibility that will never be forgotten. It will endure in the anger and oaths of vengeance of our peoples. Zionist Israel, which claims to extend a hand to Druze and Kurds, has resumed attacks on Gaza. The Netanyahu government, responsible for the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, can never be a friend to oppressed peoples. We feel the pain of the Palestinian people most deeply.

EXPLOITED IN THE MOST CRUEL WAY

The fascist Turkish state and its gangs continue their attacks aimed at annihilating Kurds in Tişrîn, Qaraqozax, Kobanê, Zap, Xakurkê und Metîna. In Bakurê Kurdistan and Turkey, their policies of political liquidation and submission persist. Imperialist capitalism seeks to exploit and redistribute all the world’s values anew. Every corner of the world has been turned into a battlefield by imperialists and their collaborators. Labor, women, and nature—everything is exploited in the cruelest manner. Anything human is shattered and destroyed by every means and weapon. The lands of the Middle East and Kurdistan bear more than their fair share of these attacks. Despite employing every tool of oppression, force, and violence, imperialist capitalists and their collaborators cannot subdue or liquidate oppressed peoples, women, and workers. Here stands Kurdistan, here stands Palestine. Capitalism can resolve its existential crisis neither globally, nor in the Middle East, nor in Kurdistan. Class, national, and gender contradictions cannot be erased or covered up—they can only find true resolution in the construction of socialism, through the abolition of the capitalist imperialist system.

GREETINGS TO THOSE WHO REFUSE TO SUBMIT

As MLKP Kurdistan, we will continue to defend all the gains of the Rojava revolution and fight for a democratic Syria; for a just, honorable, and democratic peace in Bakurê Kurdistan and a united revolution. We will stand alongside the ‘Jin, Jiyan, Azadî’ uprising that has spread from Rojhilat to the world. For Newroz 2025, we call on the peoples of all nations—Kurdish, Turkish, Arab, Persian, Syriac, Assyrian, Armenian, Chaldean, and Circassian—and of all faiths—Alevi, Yazidi, Druze, Muslim, and Christian—to strengthen self-defense and resistance together to dismantle the colonialist and occupying mentality. For Newroz 2025, we call on all the peoples of the Middle East, from Palestine to Kurdistan, to amplify revolutionary resistance and unite in the struggle to win freedom for millions of oppressed people.

Greetings to those who resist, fight, and refuse to submit to capitalism, colonialism, occupation, and male domination. Long live Newroz, long live socialism. For a just, honorable, and democratic peace. Long live the equal, free, and voluntary unity of peoples. Long live free Kurdistan.
